Alinea in Residence: Grant Achatz in Madrid

Over the course of one month, the Alinea restaurant, with three Michelin stars, will be setting up residence at the Hotel NH Collection Eurobuilding, with the presence of the acclaimed American chef Grant Achatz and his team of over 50 people who have been flown in directly from Chicago.

The VIP breakfast room at the Eurobuilding hotel in Madrid will be housing a temporary replica of Grant Achatz's restaurant in the home of DiverXO run by chef David Muñoz who has also been awarded three Michelin stars.

On the week of 12 to 16 January, the American chef will be going toe-to-toe with David Muñoz, as diners have the chance to sample the first half of the tasting menu in one of the restaurants and the second half in the other (Alinea and DiverXO) providing a gastronomic visit that will feature 17 and 20 dishes.

Between 19 January and 6 February, Grant Achatz will unfurl the essence of his cooking, creating a menu with influences from Spanish cuisine.

The interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán has been commissioned to transform the VIP breakfast room at the hotel into the playground of the American chef. With 90% of tables reserved by diners from the UK, Germany, and Belgium, with professionals from European restaurants dining alongside members of the press and media, the event is expected to be a great success.
