Avila: The cradle of Santa Teresa private acessible day-tour to Avila, is targeted for wheelchair users and people with limited mobility and their families. The walled city of Avila, is home to medieval knights and a UNESCO World Heritage site
9 am: Transfer from the hotel in Madrid to Avila in our adapted minivan (1hour drive).
Our journey begins with a stop at Los Cuatro Postes hill to admire the panoramic views of the city of Avila, dotted with church towers and Gothic palaces and declared "World Heritage" by UNESCO. The city of Avila has very ancient walls dating from the eleventh century and they surround the whole city of Avila.
There are 90 fortified towers and circular turrets just like in the old tales. Avila is a very important pilgrimage site as it is the birthplace of the writer Santa Teresa de Jesús (1515-1582). We will wander through the old city contemplating the amazing variety of churches and the Romanesque and Gothic styles of Avila.
This tour will take us to the Basilica of San Vicente, a masterpiece of Gothic and home to some of the most important examples of Romanesque sculpture in Spain. Finally we will visit the Cathedral of Avila, with its design strength and alabaster tombs and chapels. A perfect combination of Gothic and Romanesque styles.
We will stop for lunch in a traditional restaurant (price is not included)
17:45: Transfer back to hotel in Madrid (1 hour drive)

Visits to the Basilica of San Vicente and Santa Teresa Convent and the Cathedral are included in this tour.
Cancellation and Refund Policy: In case of cancellation between the confirmation date and 46 days before arrival, 30% of the total cost of the trip will be charged. In case of cancellation between 45 and 31 days before arrival, 40% of the total cost of the trip will be charged. In case of cancellation between 30 and 15 days before arrival, 50% of the total cost of the trip will be charged. In case of cancellation less than 15 days before arrival, 100% of the total trip will be charged.
If the client postpone or modifies the dates of the trip, it will be subject to the cancellation conditions mentioned in the previous paragraph.
No refunds will be made for not having enjoyed any part of the trip, for cancellations made once the trip has begun or early terminations of the trip for any reason.
In those Tours or Packages with airline, boat or train tickets reservations, the customer will pay the entire cost the service. Also applicable for Hotel and Van reservation costs.
Not included: snack/meals and gratuities.
